Revisers LFR LevinwFricke i 1.0 INTRODUCTION Ibis Work Plan is a revision of the November 16, 2001 Pilot Test Work Plan presented at a Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSQ meeting on March 13, 2002 for Guild Cleaners ("the Propp'rty% Ionated at 17 and 31 South Church Strut in the City of Loch ("the City"), Cotitty of Sari Joaquin, Califorwa This Work Plan has been prepared by LFR Levine Fricke (LFR) at the request of Lon Gualco, Esq , on behalf of Guild Cleaners. Inc. ("Project Proponent"), for a Sod Vapor Extraction and Groundwater Sparging pilot study ("Work Plan") In accordance with the April 29, 2002 "Rmnedtal Investigation and Feasibility Study Work Plan," this Work Plan is also being submitted in accordance with Section 300.430(d)(1) of the NCP which states "a treatability study shat! be conducted, when appropriate and practical, to provide additional data for a detailed analysis and to support engineering design of remedial alternatives." This Work Phil will also be performed using the -Guide to Conducting Treatability Studies Under CERCLA (EPA 1992) and ilia Guidance Document for Conducting Remedial Investigations and Feasibility Studies Under CERCLA (EPA 1989) consistent with the NCP This Work Plan reflects changes and responds to comments discussed with the DTSC on March 13, 2002 It also reflects changes to the site conceptual model which resulted from LFR's investigation completed under the "Revised Supplemental Site Investigation Work Plan, Guild Cleaners, 17 South Church Street, Lodi, California," dated October 1, 2001, prepared by LFR ("the Revised Supplemental Site Investigation Work Plan", LFR 2001), and as amended on November I6, 2001 71ius Work Plait describes activities to be conducted during a soil vapor extraction and _ gmandwater sparging (SVE/GS)pilot study The SVEIGS pilot swdy will be performed in four phases. • Phase I will consist of air flow and vacuum monitoring during operation of a pilot scale soil vapor extraction and treatinent system(SUETS) • Phase II will Consist of a longer duration SVE test • Phase III will consist of a combined soil vapor extraction and groundwater air sparging (SVEIGAS)pilot study rising nine combined soil vapor extraction wells and sparging wells. - Phase N will take place after completion of Phase III of the pilot study It will consist of a combined soil vapor extraction and grrowdwater ozone sparging (SVi /GOS) pilot study In recognition of potential issues in relying solely on radius of uifluence (ROI) testing for soil vapor extraction design, LFR will collect the necessary data to estimate a critical pore gas velocity to be used in the design of the vapor extraction system, This Vq-rsyscs�L0b-My-W]23 aoc ih Page 1 00/90 d 82T0t,9b60ZI 01 9060 ES9 OTS 3N0I2I3 3NIA37 2137 6d SE 91 20, 60 Iof
