{
Machado Property (UIC-septic) page 2
20333/20329 S. Airport Way, Manteca. F
i
In addition to the petroleum and volatile organic compounds to be sampled for,
EHD will require a pH test to be conducted on selected soil and groundwater (if
collected) samples. Strong acids and bases are typ.ically;,used in the process of
making methamphetamine. The pH test will verify if.these compounds have
impacted the area surrounding the septic system.
r
The work plan included a proposal to 'push' soil-collecting rods to depths of
concern for the collection of soil samples next to the system. This procedure
should be modified to provide `slant' boring techniques soy that the soil samples
collected are from under the septic system and not next to it.
The work plan is approved with conditions noted above.
,F
The boring permit will be issued as soon as your consultant contacts EHD and
verifies the work plan revisions. t
Please contact Michael Infurna with 48 working hour notice to schedule the field
activities. Mr. Infurna can be reached at (209) 468-3454.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
f Environmental Health Division
Michael J.
