Number
2 3 4 5
Measurement Instructions
All measurements for vertical deflection are made from the bottom of the tank to the bottom of the fitting.
All measurements should be made in inches using a standard nonmetallic gauge stick.
All measurements should be made through the fill tube fitting.
Measurement 1 may be made above ground or in hole prior to backfilling.
Measurement 2 must be made prior to insertion of drop tube, but after fill pipe has been installed.
Measurement 1 is the inside diameter
read intoes of the tank at the gauge opening.
Measure from the bottom of the tank
to the bottom of the fitting. This
measurement should be taken prior to
meas ,emem placing any backfill. Record measure-
ment 1.
Measurement 2 is the distance from
a mcnes the bottom of the tank to the top of
the fill tube. This measurement should
be taken prior to insertion of the drop
tube. Backfill should be to subgrade at
---1 2 this time. Record measurement 2.
Measurement 3 is the distance from
the bottom of the fitting to the top of
the fill tube. This measurement is
nad taken by driving a nail into the 1" point
at a right angle to the gauge stick.
measurement 3
Lower the gauge stick down the fill
tube far enough to extend below the
bottom of the fitting. Lift the gauge
stick until the nail catches on the
lip of the fitting. Read measurement at
the top of the fill pipe. Subtract 1" to
allow for the point where the nail is in
the gauge stick.
on*
1@)
FLUID
CONTAINMENT
Pub. No. 16756-B Litho U.S.A.
