REMAIN OUTSIDE THE PERMIT SPACE, IF IT IS SAFE TO DO SO, UNTIL RELIEVED BY ANOTHER <br />ATTENDANT OR THE PERMIT IS CANCELLED. <br />CONFINED SPACE_ <br />Is large enough and so configured that an employee can physically enter & do assigned work AND has limited or <br />restricted means of entry or exit AND is not designed for cora inuos employee occupancy. <br />PERMIT REQUIRED CONFINED SPACE: <br />A confined space that has one or more of the following characteristics: <br />1. Contains or has the potential to contain a hazardous atmosphere (bad air). <br />2. Contains a material that has the potential for engulfing an entrant. <br />3. Has a sloping wall/floor design which could trap/asphyxiate a person/ <br />4. Contains any ether reco 'zed serious safety or health hazard <br />COMMON CONFINED SPACE HAZARDS: <br />Hazardous atmospheres, residual chemicals, slick surfaces, energies needing lockout, materials in adjacent pipes, <br />steam, temperature extremes, high noise levels, bad lighting, engulfment, electrical, difficult access, traffic hazards, <br />adjacent rocesses with potential hazards (ignition sources hazardous chemicals etc-). <br />
