ANY DELAYS ON SITE DUE TO <br />PERSONNEL OR TANK(5) NOT PREPARED PFOPERLY WILL INCREASE JOB <br />COST. <br />Underrraund Tank Entry For Inspection or Reznanufacturin; Faze I-0 A <br />1. Reinforce, or shore sides of cxcavation so pad will not undermine, and material will not <br />miacate into excavated hole (pet OSHA Standard 1926.650 through 1926.652) <br />. - Entry through enesp - wili require one half of endcap diameter exposed. The area <br />excavated should start inhere the end cap begins to curve duwrfward. Di_ down 4'. back'6'; <br />and S' wide. (See drawir�a attached) <br />- Entry through manway - already installed in tank, will require the remoyal of all <br />pumps or vents installed in the manway lid. The full 2T' diameter manway opening.will be <br />utilized for tank entry, so it cannot be obstructed in any way. Loosen the mar�way cover <br />before .the Technician arrives on site.. <br />2. Tank must be empty. of fuel ( NOThin i" of bottom of tank) Note: The Technician will <br />vept the tank To atmosphere to lower explosion levels in zhe tonic to less than 10% LEL. <br />Get the tank as empty as possible, The more product removed frons the tank will reduce the <br />time required by the technician to vent. <br />3. An open top 5.5 gallon drum must be provided for Technician's use for removing or <br />soaking up any residual product left in the tank. This drum is considered hazardous waste, <br />and will be the responsibility of the owner or contractor to dispose of accordingly_ If the <br />tans: is extremely dirty, you may be required to contract the services of a tank cleaning <br />company. <br />4: A safety person must be available to. assist the Technician at M tunes. This person must <br />be clean shaven, and abic to speak English- This person must have no ocher duties other <br />than assisting and monitoring the Technician.
