JLIN-30-1999 WED 1200 PH CONTAINnENT SOLUTIONS FAX NO. 8008394727
allowed water entry into the interstitial space. The actvat cause of these buckles cannot be
determined until the tank is removed frorn the instalia6on.
When the interior deflection measurements are greater than what is allowed In the installation
checklisk the tank must be removed from the ground and recertified by a Containment Solutions
Field Technician. The necertficaWn process repairs any Interior and exterior damage that is
found on the tank. At the completion of the repairs, the tank Is air tested to assure that all repairs
are sound and that no additional repelrs are necessary. The tank must then be reinstalled In strict
following of the installation instnUctions Vthe warranty to be valid.
While the Field Technician was at the site to observe the excavation of the 10 -foot diameter tank,
The
he took the vertical dimensions of the adjacent 8 -foot diameter tank through two top g
8 -foot diameter tank is 92 inches in diameter. The measurements showed 89 inches and 88-314
Inches, so deflection Is 3 inches and 3-114 Inches. These deflection readings exceed the 1-112
Inch allowance, so this tank should also be removed from the instaliabon and be necertlfled.
If there are questions about the technician visit or this leiter, please contact ms at 449-7$x-7731
extension 213, or Mc Ed Woods, or Mr. Randy Crownover in the Field Service office at 1-800-
822-1997.
Sind rely yours,
Robert D.
