One 55ga1 drum outside the metal shop at the south end of the property has unknown <br />liquid, metal filings and pieces of metal in it. Also, the liquid seems to be leaking from <br />the drum and flowing towards a storm drain nearby. <br />CCR Section 66265.31 requires a facility to be maintained and operated to minimize the <br />possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non -sudden release of <br />hazardous waste or hazardous waste constituent to air, soil, or surface water which could <br />threaten human health or the environment. Immediately remove the liquid from the <br />drum, sample, and dispose of it appropriately. <br />Violation # 20) Failed to properly label containers of hazardous waste. <br />Container # 2 located on the southwest corner of the Liquid Waste Storage Area <br />contained a 55gal drum with an accumulation date of more than a year and had not been <br />disposed. Pursuant to CCR Section 66262.34 (e) The generator may accumulate 55 gal <br />of hazardous waste at or near point of generation without a permit if the waste is <br />accumulated near the initial accumulation, not held onsite for more than one year from <br />the initial date, and has the initial date of accumulation. Immediately have a California <br />registered hazardous waste hauler remove and dispose of the container appropriately. <br />A Igal container holding a dark liquid stored in the yellow flammable cabinet in the <br />machine shop was not labeled. <br />
