Circle K Stores Inc.—West Coast Business Unit
495 East Rincon, Suite 150
Corona, CA 92879
Response:
The site's Manager and Market Manager,Rudy Tovar have been instructed that all bill of lading
for filters need to be retained for 3 years and readily available for review.
Issue#10:
Stored hazardous waste onsite greater the 180 days.
Response:
All hazardous waste drums were picked up June 26,2009. Attached is a copy of the Hazardous
Waste Manifest. Rudy Tovar, the Market Manager, for the location has been instructed to
properly label the containers once waste has been placed in the drum(s).They have been
instructed to contact dispatch right away to have them removed.
Issue#11:
Emergency coordinator information lacking or insufficient.
Response:
Attached is a copy of the Hazardous Management Business Plan with all required emergency
contact information.
Issue#12:
An empty Haz/Mat container larger than 5 gallons was not marked with the date it was
emptied/not managed within one year of being emptied.
Response: All hazardous waste drums were picked up June 26,2009.Attached is a copy of the
Hazardous Waste Manifest. Rudy Tovar, the Market Manager, for the location has been
informed that he may only store Haz/Mat containers for up to 180 days and the containers that
once held hazardous waste or material must be manager within 1 year.He has been instructed that
these containers must be labeled"EMPTY"and the date.
I believe this response addresses the issues indicated on the referenced Hazardous Waste
Generator Program Inspection Report&the UST Program Inspection Report. I apologize for
deficiencies that were found. As noted above, the Market Manager has been replaced, in part,
due to compliance issues such as these. Rudy and I are working diligently to ensure that all
service stations are up to code.
