AMTEX ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTATION NUMBER: <br /> Environmental Management MANAGEMENT FOR HANDLING & AMT-203 <br /> Document LABELING WASTE MATERIALS <br /> 1.0 Purpose <br /> 1.1 The purpose of this document is to define and document procedures to properly label & <br /> store used oil & universal waste products. <br /> 2.0 Scope <br /> 2.1 To define a procedure too properly handle used oil & universal waste within AMTEX; <br /> Manteca. This Procedure should be used for labeling & storing waste oil & universal <br /> waste products in the designated waste storage area. <br /> 3.0 Procedure <br /> 3.1 Used Oil <br /> 3.1.1 Used oil will be placed in metal drums by a maintenance technician. <br /> 3.1.2 The Maintenance technician will retrieve the appropriate label from the i \:1 <br /> Environmental & Safety Supervisors office and apply it to the barrel. <br /> 3.1.3 The Maintenance technician will fill in the accumulation start date on the label. <br /> 3.1.4 Used Oil will not be stored longer than 90 days. <br /> 3.1.5 The Maintenance technician will notify the maintenance Supervisor when he has <br /> placed used oil in the barrel storage area. <br /> 3.1.6 The Maintenance Supervisor will verify that the barrel is stored & labeled <br /> properly. <br /> 3.1.7 During the weekly Environmental Safety Audit the auditor will record the <br /> accumulation start date on the audit form. <br /> 3.1.8 When the audit is completed the form will be reviewed by the EMR or his /her <br /> designee and he will calculate the appropriate date to schedule a waste hauler pick <br /> up of the used oil. <br /> 3.1.9 The EMR or his designee will inform the Maintenance Supervisor that a pick up <br /> has been scheduled. <br /> 3.2 Universal Waste <br /> 3.2.1 Used Fluorescent light tubes and bulbs will be placed in a container by a <br /> Maintenance technician. <br /> 3.2.2 The Maintenance technician will record the qty of tubes or bulbs, his /her name & <br /> date on the outside of the container.. <br /> PREPARED BY: Ron Knoepfle APPROVED BY: Maurice Barrera <br /> PAGE NUMBER: <br /> ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE: November 20,2006 DATE LAST REVISED: November 15,2008 1 OF 2 <br /> - Printed Copy For Reference Only - <br />
