East Weber Avenue <br /> Courthouse , Room 401 <br /> Stockton , CA 95=02 <br /> Dear" Mr. Baldwin. <br /> I am writing as a follow-up to our conversations regarding <br /> the fire at our facility yesterday, May 26, 1987. <br /> As you know, a fire broke out at about 9: 30 p. m. in our <br /> silver recovery unit which is located at 'the rear of our- <br /> building in the water treatment area. Fortunately, the fire <br /> was confined to that unit. <br /> As a precautionary measure, this incident was reported to <br /> your office by Acting Chief Ron Waddle since the recovery <br /> _snit contained a silver- cyanide solution. Subsequently, we <br /> took various samplesof water and analyzed <br /> them for silver- <br /> and cyanide concentration. Sewer pump station 48 N/A 0. 17 ppm <br /> ( 1200 block Vanderbilt son, <br /> Circle) Srr <br /> R P.' <br /> It should he noted that the sample ##1 water was totally <br /> contained within our waste treatment system and not <br /> discharged to the city sewer. <br /> Finally, as you know, several of our employees, who had been <br /> in the smok:ey area, were sent to Doctors Hospital of Manteca <br /> for examinations. All were examined and released with no <br /> further- medical attention required. They were <br /> �, �, <br />
