4.0 SECURITY
This section describes the basic security controls and procedures in place at
the facility.
The Gas Load Center is surrounded by a 6-foot-high, chain-link: fence topped with
barbed wire. The yard perimeter and interior are fully illuminated at dusk by
automatic lights. There are two gates located around the yard' s perimeter. The
west gate remains open from 6:00a.m. to 6:00p. m. , Monday through Friday. The
north gate remains closed at all times. All gates are locked after 6:00p.m. and
on weekends and holidays. The small equipment repair shop and office building are
locked when not in use. The gas pump is operated with an electronic key system.
In cases of weekend or after-hours, employees entering or leaving the facility
buildings re-lock: all gates and doors. All employees are instructed to watch
for strangers at the facility and question them regarding any unusual activity.
During after-hours, employees are instructed not to open any doors and to call for
help if any strangers are seen at the site. A private security patrol inspects
this facility after hours.
FG&E' s Security Manual details standard PG&E security measures and is issued to
each facility supervisor.
REV. 11-27
4-12
