Mr. Robert Doss, P.E.
July 9, 1996
Page 2
3. Section 5.0 includes a recommendation to "implement a soil
remedy alternative recommended in the final FS and described
in the RAP" consisting of treatment of four source areas
within Area I to minimize migration of contaminants to
groundwater. DTSC has not approved, much less received, a
final FS or RAP. It appears a bit premature for PG&E to be
proposing implementation of a final soil remedy without
first completing the final Feasibility Study.
Please submit the revised Phase IV Report within two weeks
from receipt of this letter. If you have any questions, please
contact me at (916) 255-3737.
Sincerely
Fernando Amador, P.E.
Hazardous Substances Engineer
Central California Cleanup
Operations Branch
Enclosure
cc: Ms. Patricia, Sullivan
PG&E
77 Beale Street, Room 2427C
San Francisco, California 94106
Ms. Paula, Bolio
CH2M Hill
111 Broadway, Suite 1200
Oakland, California 95607-4046
Ms. Eleanor Ratcliff
San Joaquin Public Health Department
Environmental Health Division
Post Office Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Mr. Philip Isorena
Regional Water Quality Control Board
Central Valley Region
3443 Routier Road
Sacramento, California 95827
FA. dm
c:\FA07W.076
