Charter Way, Stockton, CA
On June 8 , 1988 an inspection was conducted at the above referenced location
to evaluate your environmental concerns. The inspection revealed
the existance of a steam cleaning unit used by former tenants. The
steam cleaning unit as constructed was in violation of State and local
laws.
Approval for use of this unit would require the following:
1. Connect all steam cleaning unit waste discharge lines to an installed
oil/sand seperator. Installation shall be udner permit and inspection
by the Division of Environmental Health.
2. Provide an above ground waste storage tank to pump and store all
liquid waste associated with the steam cleaning unit.
3. All accumulated liquid waste stored in the above ground tank shall
be pumped, transported by a licensed pumper and disposed of in an approved
disposal facility .
The inspection also revealed the previous tenants using the steam cleaning
unit were discharging wastes directly into Mormon Slough. This condition
is a violation of State discharge regulations and will be referred over
to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board Central Valley Region.
If you have any questions regarding this matter contact Jim Miller,
R.S. , Supervising Sanitarian of my staff at (209)468-3436 .
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , MPH •
District H46alth Officer
Ron Valinoti , H.S . , Dirc*ctor
Environmental Health Division
RV/JRM:jw
Enclosure
cc : Raymond Rott , Lodi
George Piccardo, Stockton
Don Matsen, New Holland, PA
