Stored waste liquids in the used coolant tank are not classified by OSHA as
combustible.
These liquids have the following HMIS Hazard Ratings:
Health: 2 (moderate)
Flammability: 1 (slight)
Reactivity: 0(minimal)
(3) Not Applicable: Tanks are not in contact with soil or water.
(4) Not Applicable: Tanks are located under cover adjacent to the service facility building.
(5) Design Considerations:
(A)Tank Foundation
The waste oil tank is supported by a 6"reinforced concrete slab. The
approximate weight of the tank and contents when full is 4,617 Ib. The floor area
supporting the tank is 480 int. The floor load is 9.6 psi. The specification for a
typical concrete slab is 3,000 psi, therefore the concrete foundation supporting
this waste oil tank is sufficient to support this load.
The used coolant tank is supported by a 6"thick concrete foundation. The
approximate weight of the tank and contents when full is 956 Ib. The area
supporting the tank is 935 int. The base load is 1.0 psi. The specification for a
typical concrete slab is 3,000 psi, therefore the concrete foundation supporting
this used coolant tank is sufficient to support this load.
(B) Not Applicable: Tank is not in a saturated zone or a seismic fault zone.
(C) Not Applicable: Installation is in USDA Climate Zone 9b, 25-30F annual
minimum temperature.
(b) Installation Handling Procedures and Inspection:
(1)Weld Breaks: None
(2) Punctures: None
(3) Scrapes of Protective Coatings: None
(4) Cracks: None
(5) Corrosion: None
(6) Other Structural Damage: None
(c) Not Applicable: Tank is above ground.
(d) Initial installation testing:
