5. Employee must know where emergency equipment is kept and how to use it. <br /> a. Fire Extinguishers <br /> b. Spill Kits <br /> c. Absorbent <br /> d. Shovels &Brooms <br /> e. Recovery Drums <br /> f. Rags <br /> 6. Employee will complete a Forklift Certification class. <br /> 7. Container Management <br /> a. Employee must understand that all hazardous waste containers are to be <br /> kept closed except when adding or removing wastes. <br /> b. Employee must understand that containers holding hazardous waste must <br /> be labeled with the words "Hazardous Waste," the accumulation start date <br /> and the "Major Risk" (flammable, toxic, etc.) involved, the company <br /> name, the company address, and the composition and physical state of the <br /> waste (either liquid or solid). If missing the employee will notify the Plant <br /> Manager immediately for correction. <br /> c. Employee must understand that an adequate amount of aisle space must be <br /> maintained between rows to allow emergency access to containers. <br /> Training for the Plant Manager shall consist of the following: <br /> 1. All applicable training items for Material Handlers and Equipment Operators. <br /> 2. Employee will receive a Formal Hazardous Waste training course covering <br /> the following items: <br /> a. Waste Identification <br /> b. Accumulating Hazardous Waste <br /> c. Emergencies and Releases <br /> d. Off-Site Shipping <br /> e. Hazardous Waste Administration and Training <br /> 3. Employee must understand how to complete the following weekly: <br /> a. Weekly Inspection of the final accumulation area. <br /> b. Complete the weekly inspection log to include notes of any problems <br /> and any actions to correct problems. <br /> c. Emergency equipment and spill kits will be inspected to ensure that <br /> the necessary supplies are available. <br /> 4. Employee must understand the plants Emergency Plans and how to execute <br /> the plans in the event of a spill that poses an immediate threat to the <br /> population and/or environment. <br />
