Ak •
2.4 Ancillary Equipment
Ancillary equipment currently consists of two filter crushers, one sump tank "bread box", and two
double diaphragm pumps. There is one oil filter crusher associated with 01 and one associated
with 02. Oil filters are placed in the crusher to remove excess oil which is collected in the drip pan
and subsequently transferred to the Used Oil tank with PVC piping. The sump tank "bread box'
temporarily contains the drained gasoline that is being removed from the salvage vehicle and gives
the operator the ability to observe fuel quality and drain water or off-specification fuel into a steel
container. One double diaphragm pump is utilized on the used gasoline tank system to transfer the
gasoline from the sump tank "bread box" and one double diaphragm pump is used to pump
gasoline from the vehicles (if it can't be drained using the drain pain) directly to the the steel
manifold. The double walled tanks are equipped with direct reading level gauges and audible high
level alarms activated by float switches for overfill protection. In addition, pressure/vacuum valves
are fixed to the vent stacks to allow proper venting under preset pressure or vacuum conditions.
Details of the ancillary equipment are provided in Table 3.Specifications for the applicable ancillary
equipment are provided in Appendix C.
.lrr-
DEC 0 €3 2016
ENVdF'n,,wENTAL
Mf`/'4°i'"t I'rbl L1Id I
E
Hazardous Waste Tank Assessment Stockton,CA
Auto Parts Group—Pick-N-Pull 5 Project No.04.20160002
