VED <br />JAN 14 2016 <br />2.8 Fire Department ENVIRONMENTAL <br />The Fire Department shall be contacted immediately for large incidents. The <br />HE <br />reLTH DEPARTMENT <br />Department provides the first response and is responsible for invoking the incident <br />command system. The Fire Department shall ensure the appropriate measures are <br />taken to: <br />• Contain and control waste to protect personnel, the environment, and property <br />from its effects. <br />• Provide technical and operational coordination to return the site of the incident to <br />normal. <br />3. ARRANGEMENTS WITH LOCAL AUTHORITIES <br />LLNL has mutual aid agreements with several local authorities to provide assistance in <br />the event of an emergency that cannot be handled by LLNL internal response <br />measures. Through LLNL's participation in mutual aid agreements, virtually all <br />emergency response organizations in the local region can be accessed. Primary local <br />authorities that provide assistance through the Alameda County Mutual Aid Agreement <br />are: <br />• San Joaquin County Sheriffs Office <br />• Tracy Police Department <br />• The Alameda County Health Care Services Agency <br />• ValleyCare Medical Center <br />• Eden Medical Center <br />• Sutter Tracy Hospital <br />LLNL participates in five additional agreements: <br />• Alameda County Fire Mutual Aid Agreement <br />• Alameda County Emergency Medical Services Agreement (ALCO-EMS) <br />• City of Tracy Mutual Aid Agreement <br />• California State Office of Emergency Services Agreement <br />• Alameda County Emergency Dispatch Consortium Mutual Aid Agreement <br />LLNL is also a signatory to a Memorandum of Understanding with the California <br />Department of Forestry, which allows automatic response upon request for wildland <br />fires. <br />The Fire Department provides emergency medical care during emergencies and <br />transports the ill or injured either directly offsite or to the LLNL Health Services facility <br />for further medical evaluation and care. The Fire Department operates under ALCO- <br />EMS Emergency Medical Plan protocols. <br />11 January 2016 <br />
