Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
January 15, 1992
Mr. Doug Wilson t L; E I
San Joaquin County Public Health JAN 2 7 1992
Environmental Health Division ENVIRONMENTAL HIEALT 1
Post Office Box 2009 PERMIT; SERVICES
Stockton, CA 95201
Re: Site 300 Fourth Quarter 1991 Inventory Reconciliation Report
Dear Mr. Wilson:
Pursuant to the guidance provided to us by your office on November 8,
1991, stating that as the implementing agency for San Joaquin underground
storage tanks, your office will continue to implement Sections 2541 [c][5] and
2644 (e) of Title 23, California Code of Regulations (Revision: August 1985).
Therefore, the underground fuel storage tanks located at Site 300 are, and will
be, monitored according to the provisions of Alternative 5 (Section 2641 [c])
until further notification from your office. The two tanks subject to the
Alternative 5 system are designated by tank number 879-GlUl and 879-G2U1.
Both tanks are used to supply gasoline to Laboratory vehicles only.
Enclosed is an Inventory Reconciliation Quarterly Summary Report
Form for Fourth Quarter 1991 for your records. Also included is Table 1 which
provide a more detailed information that cannot be readily accommodated on
the standard Summary Report Form.
For the fourth quarter 1991, there were two variations that exceeded the
allowable limits for tank 879-G2U1 (refer to Table -1). The two variations were
associated with fuel delivery caused by the inaccuracy of the volume of the
fuel delivered against the volume of the fuel recorded in the receipt. There is
no evidence that the tank was leaking because the daily inventory
reconciliations after the occurrence of the above variations were within
allowable limits.
tca rccr ;w Emoioyer • rJrnversrt yot Cahtcmia • PO Box 808 Livermore.
