Box 94234-7320 HEW IT/SERviCES <br />Sacramento, CA 94234-7320 <br />Subject: Agreement in Principle (AIP) <br />The California Department of Health Services (DHS) has entered into an <br />agreement in Principle (AIP) with the United States Department of Enemy <br />(DOE) to provide environmental monitoring and emergency preparedness at the <br />following six DOE facilities in California: <br />o Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory <br />o Sandia National Laboratory in Livermore <br />o Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in Palo Alto <br />o Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory <br />o Laboratory for Enemy - Related Health Research at U. C. Davis <br />o Energy Technology Engineering Center in Simi Valley <br />DHS is charged with assuring California's citizens that their health, <br />safety, arra environment are protected through existing programs of <br />independent monitoring and oversight, as well as review of implementation of <br />new commitments by DOE. <br />DHS is attempting to identify formal and informal groups of concerned <br />citizens to inform them how the oversight program will attempt to promote <br />full accountability in the areas of environmental protection, worker safety, <br />and public health.
