Hooper <br />Assistant Manager for Defense Programs <br />United States Department of Energy <br />Oakland Operations Office <br />1301 Clay Street, Suite 70ON <br />Oakland, California 94612 <br />Dear Mr. Hooper: <br />APPROVAL OF HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY PERMIT FOR LAWRENCE <br />LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABORATORY - SITE 300 CONTAINER STORAGE <br />AREA AND EXPLOSIVE WASTE STORAGE FACILITY, EPA ID No. CA 2890090002 <br />The California Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Toxic Substances <br />Control (DTSC), has made a decision to issue a Hazardous Waste Facility Permit for the <br />Container Storage Area and Explosive Waste Storage Facility at Lawrence Livermore <br />National Laboratory - Site 300 near Tracy in San Joaquin County, California. <br />This letter serves as a notification of our decision. Enclosed is a copy of the permit <br />signed and issued on May 23, 1996. This action constitutes a final permit decision under <br />Title 22, California Code of Regulations, Section 66271.14 (22 CCR 66271.14). DTSC <br />held a public comment period between March 3, 1996 and April 19, 1996. Since no <br />comments received requested any changes to the draft permit, the permit becomes effective <br />immediately in accordance with 22 CCR 66271.14(b)(3). <br />A copy of the final administrative record for the decision is available for review at <br />our office in Berkeley.
