(A <br />generator is defined as any <br />individual who handles the <br />waste, makes waste <br />determinations, participates in <br />any emergency response activity <br />associated with waste handling, <br />or signs Waste <br />DisposalRequisition (WDR). <br />To receive credit for this <br />training this core -course must <br />be supplemented by attendance at <br />one or more of the following two <br />specific regulated waste <br />modules: <br />EP0006-HZ Hazardous Waste Module <br />EP0006-RD Radioactive and Mixed <br />Waste Module <br />Topics: <br />• Identifying wastes <br />• Accumulating wastes ire <br />the workplace <br />• Waste documentation <br />• Waste Disposal <br />• Emergency response <br />Required for: <br />Generators of hazardous, <br />radioactive, and mixed waste, <br />work/activity supervisors of <br />workers who sign Waste Disposal <br />Requisitions (WDRs) for multiple <br />laboratories/facilities, and <br />Waste Accumulation Area (WAA) or <br />Satellite Accumulation Area <br />(SAA)Operators. <br />Required by: <br />ES&H Manual Part 36 Waste <br />Repeat frequency: One time only. <br />Refresher: None. <br />Prerequisite course: Required <br />instruction/competence prior to <br />taking EP0006-COR <br />EP0003-W New Employee <br />Orientation (EPD Module) -W <br />Alternate course: None <br />Inactive Alternate course: <br />EP0006 Hazardous Waste <br />Generation And Certification <br />(Inactive as of 10/01/03) <br />EP0021 Tru Waste Generation And <br />Certification Program <br />(Inactive as of 10/02/03) <br />Other Requirements: <br />EP0006-COR consists of two <br />modules, EP0006-COR Regulated <br />Waste Management Core Training <br />module and either the EP0006-HZ <br />Hazardous Waste Generation and <br />Certification module, or EP0006- <br />RD Radioactive Waste Generation <br />and Certification <br />module,depending on the type of <br />waste being generated.
