N 1 8 2008 <br />Fact Sheet,une 2008 """"""V'V'"V I nUAL <br />J PERMIT/SERVICES <br />Permit Renewal and Negative Declaration <br />Proposed for Lawrence Livermore <br />National Laboratory Site 300 <br />The Department of Toxic <br />Substances Control (DTSC) <br />invites you to review <br />and comment on a draft q ` <br />Hazardous Waste Facility ti ' ,tl g <br />Permit Renewal (Permit) andL,— <br />Negative Declaration under <br />the California Environmental <br />Quality Act (CEQA) for <br />Lawrence Livermore National <br />Laboratory Site 300 (LLNL I <br />Site 300) located in the E�snance to LLAIL Sitc 300 <br />eastern Altamont Hills. The <br />LLNL Site 300 is located in <br />San Joaquin and Alameda Counties. We invite you to attend and participate in a public <br />meeting and hearing for LLNL Site 300. A public meeting is an informal process for <br />DTSC to provide additional information and address your questions regarding the <br />proposed Permit and CEQA document. A public hearing is a formal process for DTSC <br />to receive comment from the community on the draft Permit and CEQA document. <br />(See box below for details.) <br />In addition to the Permit Renewal, DTSC also proposes to issue a Negative Declaration <br />under CEQA which is available for public comment and review. <br />Public Comment Period and Meeting/Hearing <br />The 45 -day public comment period for the proposed Permit and CEQA Negative <br />Declaration begins on June 1S and ends on August 18, 2008. Copies of the draft <br />Permit, CEQA Negative Declaration and supporting documents can be viewed at the <br />information repositories listed on page 4 in this fact sheet. We will consider and respond <br />to all public comments before making a final decision on this Permit Renewal.
