N 1 8 2008 Fact Sheet,une 2008 """"""V'V'"V I nUAL J PERMIT/SERVICES Permit Renewal and Negative Declaration Proposed for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Site 300 The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) invites you to review and comment on a draft q ` Hazardous Waste Facility ti ' ,tl g Permit Renewal (Permit) andL,— Negative Declaration under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Site 300 (LLNL I Site 300) located in the E�snance to LLAIL Sitc 300 eastern Altamont Hills. The LLNL Site 300 is located in San Joaquin and Alameda Counties. We invite you to attend and participate in a public meeting and hearing for LLNL Site 300. A public meeting is an informal process for DTSC to provide additional information and address your questions regarding the proposed Permit and CEQA document. A public hearing is a formal process for DTSC to receive comment from the community on the draft Permit and CEQA document. (See box below for details.) In addition to the Permit Renewal, DTSC also proposes to issue a Negative Declaration under CEQA which is available for public comment and review. Public Comment Period and Meeting/Hearing The 45 -day public comment period for the proposed Permit and CEQA Negative Declaration begins on June 1S and ends on August 18, 2008. Copies of the draft Permit, CEQA Negative Declaration and supporting documents can be viewed at the information repositories listed on page 4 in this fact sheet. We will consider and respond to all public comments before making a final decision on this Permit Renewal.
