Environmental Health Department <br /> (EHD) dated September 19, 2003, Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero) is submitting this <br /> workplan on behalf of Tuff Boy Trailers to continue investigation of the vertical and lateral extent <br /> of contamination at the referenced site. <br /> Ie <br /> The workplan describes the proposed methodology to install and sample three shallow groundwater <br /> monitoring wells, drill and sample one deep soil boring, and collect discrete groundwater samples <br /> from the deep boring. In addition,the workplan addresses other concerns raised in EHD's letter. <br /> 1! <br /> BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> Site Description and Hydrogeologic Setting '1 <br /> The project site, currently operating as metal fabrication facility, is located approximately 2 '/2 miles <br /> south of Highway 120, and approximately 3 '/2 miles south of downtown Manteca. The site location <br /> is presented on Figure 1. The nearest natural drainage feature is Walthall Slough, located <br /> approximately 1 r/8 mile southwest of the property. Predominant land use in the site vicinity is <br /> agricultural and rural residential. The elevation of the ground surface at the site is approximately 25 <br /> feet above sea level. The ground surface in the site vicinity slopes gently to the southwest. Shallow <br /> groundwater beneath the site occurs at a depth of approximately 5`7.5 feet below ground surface <br /> (bgs)• <br /> Underground Storage Tank Removal <br /> The site previously utilized one 1,100-gallon UST for storage of unleaded gasoline (Figure 2). <br />
