00ply <br /> GROUND ZERO ANALYSIS,-INC. <br /> 1714 Main Street <br /> Escalon,California 95320-1927 JUN 1 0 2004 <br /> Telephone (209)838-9888 <br /> Facsimile (209)838-9883 ENVIRONMENT HEALTH <br /> PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> June 9, 2004 <br /> Mr Martin Harris <br /> Tuff Boy Trailers <br /> 5151 Almondwood Drive <br /> Manteca, CA 95337 <br /> zip <br /> Subject First Quarter 2W Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Tuff Boy Traders, 5151 Almondwood Drive, Manteca, CA, Site Code 1424 <br /> Dear Mr Harris <br /> This letter report presents the results of first quarter 2004 groundwater monitoring and sampling <br /> activities at the subject site (Figure 1) <br /> fi <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site previously utilized one 1,100-gallon UST for storage of unleaded gasoline The UST was <br /> removed under permit from San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) in February <br /> 1999 Soil samples collected beneath the tank contained ethylbenzene and total xylenes at levels <br /> exceeding the respective laboratory detection limits and additional work was required by EHD <br /> Three soil borings were drilled in December 1999 to investigate the extent of soil and groundwater <br /> contamination near the former UST Results of the investigation indicated that soil and groundwater had <br /> been impacted by an unauthorized release of gasoline from the former UST <br /> Four groundwater monitoring wells were installed in January 2001 to investigate the extent of <br /> groundwater contamination beneath the site Analytical results indicated that soil contamination <br /> attenuated rapidly with depth and did not appear to extend deeper than approximately 12-13 feet below <br /> surface grade (bsg) Very low levels of gasoline constituents were detected in groundwater beneath the <br /> site, although the extent of contamination appears to be limited to within approximately 80 feet of the <br /> former UST <br /> Pursuant to a directive from EHD (September 19, 2003) three additional groundwater monitoring wells <br /> were installed, and one deep soil boring was advanced in January 2004 to further mvestigate the vertical <br /> and lateral extent of contamination The vertical extent of groundwater contamination was defined The <br /> lateral extent of groundwater has been essentially defined, as the furthest well downgradient contained only <br /> very Iow levels of MTBE (3 7 and 3 1 pg/L) The results of the most recent investigation were summarized <br /> in a technical report prepared by Ground Zero dated April 27,2004 <br /> 0 1GROUNDZE\Tufn3oy\Reports\QMR\IQM2004 doe <br />
