Haza Saeed [EH]
From: Haza Saeed [EH]
Sent: Monday, March 20, 2017 3:55 PM
To: 'Phillips, Edward P'
Subject: RE: metal fines hazardous waste determination
Hi Edward,
Yes you can manage it as hazardous waste. Please send me the return to compliance form with your decision.
Thank you
From: Phillips, Edward P [mailto:Edward.Phillips@BNSF.com]
Sent:Thursday, March 16, 2017 8:42 AM
To: Haza Saeed [EH] <hsaeed@sjcehd.com>
Subject: RE: metal fines hazardous waste determination
Hello Mr.Saeed,
am aware of the requirements to make a hazardous waste determination. As I explained, we do not have enough
material to make that determination. I have two choices; use "generator knowledge" of the waste, or test the waste.
know our steel has some components for which there are total threshold limits, however, without enough material to
test it, I cannot test the material, and without knowing how much of it, if any, is above the TTLC, I cannot use generator
knowledge. Quite a dilemma. If I manage the waste as hazardous, will that suffice and will you close out the inspection
without any further action (no NOV)?
Sincerely,
Eddie
Edward Phillips
Sr. Manager Environmental Operations—Pacific Tier
740 E. Carnegie Drive, San Bernardino CA 92408
Office—909-386-4082
Cell—909-266-3518
From: Haza Saeed [EH] [mailto:hsaeed@sicehd.com]
Sent:Wednesday, March 15, 2017 1:30 PM
To: Phillips, Edward P<Edward.Phillips@BNSF.com>
Subject: FW: metal fines hazardous waste determination
EXTERNAL EMAIL
Hi Edward,
Please see below for the metal fines hazardous waste determination. If you have any other questions, please contact
me.The return to compliance is past due; be aware any time spent after the deadline will be billed to the business at the
current hourly rate.
Thank you
1
