A 20 <br /> gallon white steel drum was observed in the steel shed with no empty labeling; according to Mr. Bassi, the steel shed is <br /> where he stores all of his containers of oil and other products once they are empty. Containers larger than five gallons <br /> that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were emptied and managed within one <br /> year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this section. This is a repeat violation, <br /> Class II. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> A 5 gallon blue plastic bucket containing oily water was observed in the parking lot in front of the facility without a label. <br /> A 5 gallon blue plastic bucket containing a pourable amount of used oil, and two drain pans of used oil were observed <br /> unlabeled in the shop, according to Mr. Bassi, the drain pans were from oil changes earlier this week. A black plastic <br /> container and clear plastic container of oily water were observed in the yard behind the shop without labels. A 55 gallon <br /> steel drum containing water mixed with grease was observed in the yard west of the south storage building without a <br /> label. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> -the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> - name and address of generator <br /> - hazardous properties (ignitable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br /> - physical state (liquid, solid) <br /> - composition (contents) <br /> - accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information. Since it <br /> cannot be determined how long these containers have been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste <br /> hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD. This is a repeat violation, <br /> Class II. <br /> 608 CCR 66266.130 Failed to properly manage used oil and fuel filters. <br /> Two used oil filters were found in an open, unlabeled black plastic container in the yard behind the facility. Used oil <br /> filters shall be drained of free-flowing oil, stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as"drained used oil filters," and <br /> marked with an accumulation start date. Immediately containerize and label these filters, and ensure that all used oil <br /> filters are managed in this way.
