Metal fines generated from brake grindings are being recycled as scrap metal without first determining <br /> particle size or hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is <br /> a hazardous waste. Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste determination for <br /> the metal fines, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 <br /> microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous <br /> waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> 8. This facility has an inactive EPA ID number CAL 00264973 to manage hazardous waste. A <br /> hazardous waste generator shall not treat, store, dispose of, transport or offer for transportation, <br /> hazardous waste without an active EPA ID number. Immediately obtain an EPA ID number to manage <br /> hazardous waste and submit evidence to the EHD. A form has been provided. <br /> 65. Waste antifreeze are hauled off by California Coolant under a consolidated manifest with an <br /> incorrrect EPA ID number of CAL080012602. All copies of each receipt from a consolidated manifesting <br /> procedure shall contain all of the following items: <br /> 1. name, address, EPA ID number, contact person, and telephone number of the generator, and the <br /> signature of the generator or the generator's representative <br /> 2. date of the shipment 3. manifest number <br /> 4. volume or quantity of each waste stream, its California and RCRA waste codes, the waste stream <br /> type, and its proper shipping description, including hazardous class and UN/NA identification number <br /> 5. name, address, and EPA ID number of the authorized facility to which the hazardous waste is being <br /> transported <br /> 6. transporter's name, address, and EPA ID number 7. the driver's signature <br /> 8. a statement signed by the generator, certifying that the generator has established a program to <br /> reduce the volume or quantity and toxicity of the hazardous waste to the degree as determined by the <br /> generator to be economically practicable. <br /> Ensure that future receipts from all consolidating manifesting procedures for any hazardous wastes are <br /> properly completed with facility's correct information.
