Two universal waste(UW) lamps were left in the stockroom, incorrectly stored, and leaning against <br />the back wall. Facility must store UW lamps in a closed container and in a manner that prevents <br />breakage and release to the environment. Correct immediately by placing the UW lamps in a compatible <br />container for storage. Ensure that all UW lamps are managed per Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. <br />808. Two universal waste(UW) lamps were left in the stockroom, not labeled, and leaning against the <br />back wall. A universal waste handler shall label or mark universal waste to identify the type of universal <br />waste. Lamps (i.e., each lamp), or a container in which the lamps are contained, shall be labeled or <br />marked clearly with the following phrase: "Universal Waste-Lamp(s)". Correct immediately by labeling <br />universal waste lamps per Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. <br />809. Two universal waste(UW) lamps were left in the stockroom, not labeled, and leaning against the <br />back wall. The facility lacked documentation of when these lamps became a waste. A universal waste <br />handler shall accumulate universal waste for no longer than one year from the date the universal waste <br />was generated, or was received from another universal waste handler. A universal waste handler shall <br />be able to demonstrate the length of time that the universal waste has been accumulated from the date it <br />became a waste or was received. The universal waste handler may make this demonstration by: <br />(1) Placing the universal waste in a container and marking or labeling the container with the earliest date <br />that any universal waste in the container became a waste or was received. <br />(2) Marking or labeling the individual item of universal waste (e.g., each battery or thermostat) with the <br />date it became a waste or was received; <br />(3) Maintaining an inventory system onsite that identifies the date the universal waste being <br />accumulated became a waste or was received; <br />(4) Maintaining an inventory system onsite that identifies the earliest date that any universal waste in a <br />group of items of universal waste or a group of containers of universal waste became a waste or was <br />received; <br />(5) Placing the universal waste in a specific accumulation area and marking or labeling the area to <br />identify the earliest date that any universal waste in the area became a waste or was received; or <br />(6) Any other method which clearly demonstrates the length of time that the universal waste has been <br />accumulated from the date it became a waste or was received. <br />Correct immediately by demonstrating when the universal waste lamps became a universal waste per <br />Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. <br />ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />EHD Inspector: <br />Aris Veloso (209) 468-3453 /� <br />Received By: { <br />9Aaad da <br />Title: <br />EHD 23-02-003 Rev 04/19/12 CONTINUATION FORM <br />
