The 6,900 square -foot room has a 5,000 <br />square -foot sump (approximately 1 foot <br />deep). The sump is used for processing <br />chemical spillage from 80 vats, ranging in size <br />from 175 -gallons to 1,000 -gallons, which have <br />been placed in the sump. Wood planks <br />surround the vats and serve as a false floor <br />above the sump. <br />• Sump is filled to a depth of approximately 6 <br />inches with water and chemicals. <br />• White and greenish blue chemical residue on <br />floor throughout room. <br />• Fans and equipment throughout room <br />corroded. <br />• Equipment leaking chemicals (copper) and oil <br />into plastic drip pans below the equipment. <br />• Miscellaneous debris (rags, gloves, paper, <br />tape, glass, cords) throughout the room. <br />• 23 2.5 cubic -yard bags of hazardous waste <br />solid (labeled as hydrated copper oxide). <br />• 11 55 -gallon drums labeled ammonium <br />chloride/ammonium hydroxide. <br />• 2 150 -pound bottles labeled anhydrous <br />ammonia. <br />• 8 1 to 5 -gallon containers filled with copper <br />sludge and unidentified liquid. <br />
