According to Mr. Merlos, the parts washer is no longer in use and has not <br /> been used in at least 5 years. No hazardous waste determination has been made for the fluid remaining inside. <br /> -Metal fines were observed accumulated in a catch basin attached to the brake grinder on site. No hazardous waste <br /> determination has been made for the metals. <br /> Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Metal particles 100 microns or <br /> smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Immediately make <br /> a hazardous waste determination for the parts washer fluid and the brake grindings, and manage these wastes <br /> according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining <br /> how these wastes were managed. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 113 HSC 25160.2(b)(3) Failed to keep copies of consolidated manifesting receipts for three years. <br /> Copies of hazardous waste disposal records for used antifreeze and used oil were not found on site. A single manifest <br /> for used oil was on site dated 6/14/17. Hazardous waste generators shall retain copies of all manifests signed off by <br /> the disposal facility and all receipts used in a consolidated manifesting procedure on site for three years and have <br /> them readily available for review. Immediately locate a copy of all missing manifests and receipts for the last three <br /> years, maintain them on site, and submit copies to the EHD. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> A drain pan containing used antifreeze was observed in the shop. According to Mr. Merlos, it has been sitting in the <br /> open drain pan for at least two days. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding <br /> or removing waste.
