Lab analyses revealed the samples exhibited a similar <br /> chromatography pattern to each other and both samples closely resembled a motor oil <br /> pattern. <br /> Immediately, cease cleaning equipment over sanitary sewer and any other unauthorized <br /> disposal point, cease disposing of used oil filters at unauthorized locations, and prevent <br /> oil from entering unauthorized locations. <br /> CLASS II Violations <br /> Violation #10---Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste. <br /> • Facility employees admitted washing out pumps that previously contained oil into the <br /> sanitary sewer. <br /> • Oily substance found in drain in the boiler room in Plant 2. <br /> immediately, cease disposing of oily waste at unauthorized locations and repair leaking <br /> equipment to prevent unauthorized disposal. <br /> Violation #12—Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> • Used absorbent and oily pads (pigs) and rags were found throughout the facility. It is <br /> ff parent that oil leaks are common and machinery not maintained to prevent releases of <br /> .�, Oiazardous waste. <br /> By 7-1,0-08, submit a written preventative maintenance plan outlining how the leaking <br /> machinery will be cared for to prevent further contamination. In this plan please include <br /> how the contaminated areas will be cleaned. <br /> • Asphalt containment area "stored" hazardous waste For so long that the waste in the <br /> containment area seeped through the concrete block. <br /> Immediately hire a hazardous waste company to remove the waste in the containment <br /> area. <br />
