MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM _3-
J. R SIMPLOT COMPANY
LATHROP, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
C. REQUIRED MONITORING PROGRAMS
1. Monitoring Parameters
The Discharger shall analyze water samples from each medium separately and shall test the
resulting data as follows:
a. Parameters that use statistical methods: pH, total dissolved solids, specific conductivity,
chloride, sulfate, sodium, nitrate and ammonium;
b. Parameter that uses non-statistical method: Volatile organic compounds.
2. Detection and Corrective Action Monitoring Program
For any given monitored medium, a sufficient number of samples shall be taken from all
Monitoring Points and Background Monitoring Points to satisfy the data analysis requirements
for a given Reporting Period, and shall be taken in a manner that ensures sample independence
to the greatest extent feasible.
3. Leachate Monitoring
All Class II surface impoundment LCRS sumps shall be inspected daily for leachate generation
during the period 1 December through 30 April and weekly thereafter: Upon detecti'on'bf
leachate in a previously dry LCRS, the Discharger shall immediately-sample the leachate and
shall continue to sample the leachate as specified in Table X and tine results shall be report'edto
the Board quarterly. The quantity of leachate pumped-from•each sump shall be measured'
continuously and reported as Leachate Flow Rate (gallons per day).
LEACHATE MONITORING
`€ Report in -Sampling
Parameter/Constituent Units of e ue
Flow rate' gallons/day Daily
Specific conductivity' gmhos/cm Monthly
PHI Std. pH units Monthly
Total dissolved, solids mg/l Quarterly
Sodium mg/l Quarterly
Chlorides m9/1 Quarterly
Sulfates mg/l Quarterly
Nitrates mg/1 Quarterly
