Equipment Wash Rack with Oil Separator
Proiect Description: A contained concrete slab with 6" wide and 6" high concrete
curb all around a 30 foot by 40 foot slab. The concrete slab will drain into a
double line stainless steel sump. The sump will have a removal bucket which will
sit inside the double lined sump. The removal bucket will collect all the wash
water and the solids in the water stream will settle to the bottom of the bucket.
The bucket will be removed when the bucket fills up with solids. The diaphragm
pump will pump the oil water to an oil/water/solids separator coalescing system.
The clarified water will be pumped to a lined pond where the water will be re-
used in the plant process.
Equipment List:
• Oil/Water/Solids Separator Coalescing system:
Alkota: Oil/Water/Solids Separator 12 GPM Coalescing system, Model C-12.
Attached is additional information on the unit.
• Sump Pump Kit:
Alkota P/N 8SF99SPKA2. This is an air operated diaphragm pump that puts
out 14GPM. Attached is additional information on the unit.
Handling the discharge streams:
• Wash water: Will be the oil water mixture from the wash rack. The
wash water stream will drain into a double line sump with a
removable bucket. The wash water will be pumped to an
oil/water/solids separator coalescing system.
Clarified Water: Effluent (Clarified Water) from the separator will
contain less than 10mg/iL of oil droplets larger than 20 microns. The
clarified water will discharge to a drainage sump and then pumped
to a lined pond.
• Waste stream: An oil skimmer on the oil separator unit will be
collecting the oil and discharged into an accumulation barrel where
it will be properly stored as hazardous waste here at the plant and
disposed of within state and federal requirements.
