SEP-26-2006 13:28 Sere =-e Station Systems 408 938 8888 P.02 <br /> FE Product rapet�jfiftcatwian <br /> Franklin FuelinR S nteme <br /> 1� <br /> puick Links <br /> Home History Literature Polletos Technical Tdonica Events Training Contact Us Search <br /> Location: PE Petro Home> product Literature>High Capacity Mechanical Leak Detector(STP-MLD-HC) <br /> HIGH CAPACITY MECHANICAL LINE LEAK DETECTOR (STP-MLD-HC) <br /> SPECIFICATIONS <br /> DATE: 04/06/01 <br /> General <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall be UL and C-UL listed. <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC Adapter Body and MLD Cover shall be manufactured from ASTM A48 Class 25 <br /> gray iron. <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC Body and Adapter Cover shall be be manufactured from steel bar stock. <br /> • The "0" Ring seals shall be of high grade elastomers to withstand gasoline/alcohol combinations and <br /> wear. <br /> • The piston and stem seals shall be of a high grade teflon to withstand gasoline/alcohol combinations <br /> and wear. <br /> • The piston cylinder is burnished brass to ensure a good surface to eliminate wear of the piston seal. <br /> • The piston is solid construction with no relief valves to cause external leaking. <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall be clearly marked with pertinent information including Manufacturer, Model <br /> Number and Date Code. <br /> • Two models shall be available - <br /> -Gasoline: STP-MLD-HC <br /> - Diesel: STP-MLD-HCD <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall be manufactured by FE Petro, Inc., McFarland,Wl. <br /> Installation and Maintenance <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall be compatible with 6"Submerged Turbine Pumps. Unit shall be installed with <br /> adapter housing, and shall be complete with cover, which allows for removal of the leak detector for <br /> purging lines of air during installation. <br /> • Each STP-MLD-HC assembly shall come complete with adapter housing, all fittings, tubing, and <br /> installation instructions. <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall be less than 15-1/4"H x 7-314"W to fit within a turbine sump when threaded <br /> into the discharge outlet of a 6"high capacity submersible pump. Secondary containment sumps for <br /> installation of the leak detector shall therefore not be required. Further,there shall be no unprotected <br /> piping between the STP and the STP-MLD-HC when properly installed. <br /> • Each STP-MLD-HC shall come with a warranty registration form. <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC leak detector shall be maintained by replacing the leak detector while leaving the <br /> adapter in place. <br /> Operation <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall be third party evaluated to comply with US EISA requirements 280.41 (B) and <br /> 280.44 (A)for continuous monitoring of pressurized piping systems with a volume up to 172 gallons. <br /> (Approximately 450' of 3" ID product piping.) <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall detect a minimum of 3 gallons per hour leak at 10 psi. <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall restrict flow if a leak is indicated. <br /> • The STP-MLD-HC shall catch leaks at a height of 0-12 feet above the leak detector. <br /> http://www.fepetro.conVenglish/MLD004.HTML 9/26/06 <br />
