PHS/EHD will use the mass volume determination to evaluate the current and future threat to groundwater and to determine the need for further remediation at the site. The reliability of the data collected at the site to date was discussed. The regulatory importance of proper analytical methodologies, of laboratory detection limits, and of quality control/quality assurance data associated with physical data results were also discussed. The application of Simple Green at the time of the tank removal was discussed. Simple Green may have had an impact on the mobility and degradability of the hydrocarbons at the site.' Any information on the effects on hydrocarbons by application of this product may be helpful. The reason for the sudden drop in the levels of benzene in the groundwater samples obtained from monitoring well MW#2 at the site over the last two quarters is unclear. Although there may be several factors involved, the anomaly must be explained and the explanation must be supported with physical data. In order to address the areas of concern at the site that were discussed at the meeting, a workplan for additional investigation may be submitted by April 24, 1994 in lieu of a Corrective Action Plan. In addition, please be advised that fecal coliform testing in monitoring wells has been deleted from the updated County ordinance and will no longer be required at this site.
