He said that he was <br /> wondering when I was going to make them clean up out at the River Club. He said that "they" <br /> had said that the Health Department could not make them do anything about it. He asked that <br /> I call him back,but he did not leave a phone number. <br /> A_nril 12, 2000 <br /> Received another phone message from said that had seen <br /> "them" spraying out at the River Club. said that "if you don't do your job I will have to call <br /> the state and federal". Again did not leave a phone number. <br /> I called and got the phone number for I called <br /> stated that had already talked with Jim Allan at the Tracy Ag Commissioners office. said <br /> that they were spraying pesticide at the River Club and did not think they should be doing <br /> that. 1 asked if they were still spraying diesel and said no. I told that I was <br /> working with Mr. Kahler to arrange an appropriate cleanup. <br /> April 14, 2000 <br /> Went out to the facility to meet with Larry Kahler and Gary Lesko (maintenance) for the <br /> hazardous waste inspection. Started a hazardous waste file. Mr. Lesko repeatedly asked me <br /> why they had to clean up the contaminated soil. I explained to him that we are considering it <br /> hazardous waste. He said that he was going to do the cleanup himself. I asked him if he was <br /> trained by the OSHA requirements, and he said no. He requested the names of some <br /> companies where he could get that training. I told him that I would call him with some <br /> information. I showed Mr. Lesko the areas that I had smelled diesel fuel on the date of the <br /> incident. <br /> Tried to call Gary Lesko at 4:45PM. No answer. <br /> April 17, 2000 <br /> Talked with Gary Lesko. He stated that in their meeting on Saturday, several of the club <br /> members had indicated that they had the necessary OSHA training to do the cleanup. Mr. <br /> Lesko stated that he would try to see if they were available and he would also be trying to get <br /> estimates from cleanup companies. I provided Mr. Lesko the names of several companies that <br /> provide 40 hour Hazwoper training. <br /> April 18, 2000 <br /> Received a phone message from Gary Lesko. He said that the people at the River Club were not <br /> able to help with the cleanup. He said that the earliest date he could get the appropriate <br /> training was May 22. He said that Evergreen was going to give him a cleanup estimate. He <br /> asked how much time he had to take care of it. I told Mr. Lesko that it had dragged on too long <br /> as it was. I told him that the cleanup had to be completed very soon or we would have to take <br /> further action. <br /> April 19, 2000 <br />
