' QUARTERLY MONITORING REPORT <br />FOURTH QUARTER 1993 <br />MAJOR MART PROJECT <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />This report summarizes the results of quarterly groundwater monitoring and the status of <br />remedial activities for the Mayor Mart site located at 1235 East Alpine Avenue in Stockton, <br />California (Figure 1 and Figure 2) The report is organized to address the reporting <br />requirements discussed in the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (EHD) Ietter <br />dated November 12, 1991 to American Real Estate Group (AREG) To respond to EHD's <br />requirements, this report is presented in two segments The first segment reports on the results <br />of the fourth quarter 1993 groundwater monitoring program, while the second segment discusses <br />the status of the overall remedial program Where project historical data is of importance to the <br />current status of the project, it is referenced Should users of this report be interested in the <br />overall history of the project, reference should be made to the WESTON Third Quarter 1992 <br />Report dated November 13, 1992 which contains a historical summary of work completed up <br />to that time <br />2.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING PROGRAM <br />This section presents a summary of the field activities and analytical results of the fourth quarter <br />1993 monitoring event along with a historical compilation of analytical data from prior <br />monitoring events The field work was completed on December 16 and 17, 1993 <br />2.1 Field Activity Summary <br />The groundwater monitoring program consists of two aspects 1) field measurement of <br />groundwater elevation, temperature, pH and electrical conductivity, and 2) collection of <br />groundwater samples for laboratory analysis All six groundwater monitoring wells at the site <br />were inspected for the presence of floating product and measured for groundwater levels <br />Samples were collected using the procedures detailed in the Field Report presented in <br />Appendix A All samples were submitted to WESTON's Stockton, California analytical <br />laboratory for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA Method <br />8015-M and BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene) by EPA Method 8020 The <br />current monitoring schedule requires total lead and coliform analyses only in the third quarter <br />of each year <br />TrK\RPTS\ARE(,40TR WP I Olf_4194 <br />
