I
Sam ling Procedure anJI AnalLysis Schedule
' A sampling order was established prior to this sampling round, based on analytical results from
the last quarter samples The wells were sampled in the following order•
' I MW-4
2 MW-6
3 MW-3
' 4 MW-5
5 MW-1
6 Mw-2
' To sample each well, a pre-cleaned teflon bailer was attached to new braided nylon line and
lowered into the well, filled, and brought to the surface. The water in the bailer was carefully
poured into laboratory prepared glass bottles which were capped with Teflon-lined caps Sample
bottles were labeled with stick-on labels filled out in indelible ink, with the following
information
Site name
Date coIIected
Time collected
Sample ID
Sampler's initials
Analysis required
Any other pertinent information
Quality control/quality assurance procedures consisted of the collection of a blind duplicate and
an equipment decontamination nnsate sample The duplicate was collected concurrently with
' sample MW-1 and was given the fictitious well/sample name MW-13 The decontamination
sample (labeled MW-I2) was collected from a bailer which had been cleaned by the normal
decontamination procedure after sampling MW-1 Deionized water was poured into the
decontaminated bailer and then the water was poured from the bailer into the sample bottles
This sample serves as a check on the decontamination procedures for the bailer, ensuring that
it has been effectively cleaned
' The teflon bailer used to purge the wells and collect the water samples was thoroughly
decontaminated prior to each use to prevent cross-contamination of samples Decontamination
of the bailer consisted of a dual wash with an alconox/potable water solution followed by a
' potable water rinse, and a final rinse with distilled water The thin nylon line used to lower the
bailer was removed and discarded after each use
' All purge water from the wells and decontamination nnsate was transferred to a 700-gallon poly-
tank located onsite At the end of the sampling round, the tank contained approximately 680
gallons of water A sample from the tank, coded Tank-61$93, was collected at the end of the
' sampling round to characterize the contents for disposal Based on the analytical results, the
contents of the tank will be disposed in an appropriate manner prior to the next sampling event
MX%RPrS\AREG2QTR WP A - 3 08105/93
