If groundwater is
encountereu, monitoring wells will be installed in the three borings. The wells will be
constructed of 2-inch diameter schedule 40p
VC Piping. °The wells will' be installed to a
depth of 10 feet below the groundwater surface. A typical monitoring well construction is
shown on Figure 3.
2.2 GROUNDWATER
r-
LF groundwater is encountered during the field investigation, groundwater samples will be
collected. Groundwater level measurement and the thickness of free product(if present)will
be taken in each well prior to purging. Each well will be purged a minimum of three well
casing volumes or until bailedrior to
' sampling..
P p' g The water generated during the
sampling, developing, and purging operations will be placed in 55-gallon drums. Proper
disposal of the water will be based on the analytical results. Water quality parameters
(specific conductance,,pH and water temperature) will be measured before sampling. The
samples, will be collected utilizing a clean Teflon bailer. The samples will be placed in
laboratory prepared containers and stored in an ice chest(with ice or blue ice). Under chain
or custody, the sample will be taken to a DHS certified analytical laboratory to be analyzed
for TPH(gasoline), BTEX and total lead. If the monitoring well is located within 50 feet of
z sewer line, the sample will be analyzed for fecal coliform.
i .
iS
71CVLBAJMMORMAAr.wa 07.0l.91MLg `.z
