'yam' <br /> I <br /> Bud Nh <br /> 1 <br /> Woodward-Clyde Consultants <br /> 1.2 PHYSICAL SETTING <br /> The site is an abandoned mini-market/gasoline station (Major Mart) located at 1235 East <br /> Alpine Avenue in Stockton,Ca',ifornia(Figure 1). Site features include a one-story building <br /> (located on the west central portion of the property)and a canopy(located on the east central <br /> portion of the property) as shown on Figure 2. The site is bounded by West Lane on the <br /> �. east, 5y East Alpine Avenue on the sauh, and by residential housing on the west and north. <br /> i > <br /> 1.3 SITE HISTORY <br /> _. The site began operation a5 a gasoline service station in the early 1960's. The service station <br /> w was expanded to include a mini-market in 1986, The site was abandoned in 1989(Roger to <br /> check). <br /> In June 1990, three gasoline tanks (6,000 gallon, 8,000 gallon and 10,000 gallon) and an <br /> "wl underground waste oil tank (500 gallon) were removed from the property by the Seibold <br /> ,..� <br /> Corporation. After the gasoline tanks were removed,six soil samples(two samples per tank <br /> i were collected by FGL Environmental Analytical Chemists underneath the tanks as specified <br /> r� by San Joaquin County Public Heaith Services (SJCPHS) guidelines and in Table i of the <br /> Tri-Regional Board Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of <br /> r <br /> Underground tank sites, 1990. The samples were submitted to an analytical laboratory(FGL <br /> Environmental Analytical Chemists) for analysis. The samples collected underneath the <br /> gasoline tanks were analyzed for: <br /> benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and total xylenes (BTEX), i <br /> • total lead, <br /> total petroleurn hydrocarbon (TPH)as gasoline and <br /> • ethylene dibromide (EDB). <br /> The analytical results for the soil samples collected underneath the gasoline tanks are <br /> presented in Table 1. <br /> w. <br /> 91CO239A-/MA10fiMART.WP I&O9_91Ir1ta 1-3 <br /> ire , <br />
