She stopped pumping and put the nozzle back. (c) estimates
about four gallons of fuel spilled(facility told her it was one gallon). (c) talked to Gabriel Troche, CSA who
had her move her car away from the spill by putting it in neutral and pushing it. Gabriel had another
employee clean up the spill with tube looking things they placed around the spill area. It took about an
hour to clean up the spill. (c) is not sure what happened to the stuff after they cleaned it up. (c) also
noticed about three other dispensers had orange cones in front of them. (c) is concerned there might be
a problem with the site if that many dispensers are blocked off and then gas overflows on her. (c) is also
concerned about the way the employees handled the cleanup. No body had to stop pumping gas and no
body was asked to stop smoking. (c) was very concerned about the place blowing up. (c) received $5
from Gabriel as reimbursement for the spilled fuel she paid for. (c) thinks it should be more money (to
cover the entire four gallons extra that she paid for).
While on site I asked the employee to explain what is done in the event of a fuel spill. Employee
explained that the spill control equipment is used to absorb the spilled fuel and that the contaminated
absorbent is placed into the facility hazardous waste drum. I verified that the hazardous waste drums are
properly labeled and managed. Hazardous waste receipts for proper disposal of hazardous waste were
found on site. Annual training of facility employees was performed by the facility designated operator
within the past twelve months. Facility has 180 days from the accumulation start date to properly dispose
ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE
InVedoc
EHD 22-02 Rev 04119/12 Page 4 C-/r HW INSPECTION REPORT
