All facility communications or alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Immediately begin this practice, submit proof of correction to the EHD. This is a Class II violation. 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days: 1) Two containers (one glass jar and one black plastic bag, <1 lb) of magnesium waste located in the satellite accumulation area of the northern site building, did not have an appropriate label with an initial start date marked. 2) One 5 gallon container with a faded damaged hazardous waste label was observed inside the paint mixing room, no accumulation start date was visible. Since it cannot be determined how long the hazardous waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest. Submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD within 30 days. This is a Class If violation. 603 CCR 66262.34(e)(1)(C) Failed to mark initial accumulation start date on satellite containers. Two containers (one glass jar and one black plastic bag, <1 Ib) of magnesium waste located in the satellite accumulation area of the northern site building, did not have an appropriate label with an initial start date marked. The initial date of waste accumulation shall be clearly marked and visible for inspection on each container used for satellite accumulation of hazardous waste. Since it cannot be determined how long this waste has been stored on site, immediately mark this container with today's date and contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest within 180 days.
