•
magnetometry, or electro-magnetic induction to locate underground utilities near the
sample locations. In addition, DigAlert will be contacted at least 2 days prior to
subsurface work in order to mark public utilities that may be located on the subject
property.
Dudek was not able to obtain utility drawings for the property from the City, County or
site owner. Thus, the building perimeters will also be surveyed by the private locator in
order to identify utility areas, so that samples may be collected from these areas.
5.5.2. Building Floor Plans
Floor plans for all buildings have not yet been obtained. Floor plans and utility entrances
into buildings will be compiled during a site visit and included in the soil gas sampling
report.
5.5.3. Sample Collection Procedures
5.5.3.1. Soil Vapor Sample Collection
Soil vapor probes will be installed using a direct posh rig (Geoprobe). Procedures for
probe installation using the Geoprobe and sample ctAm ion will be followed, as
outlined in the March 2012 DTSC Advisory-Active Soil Gas Investigations (DTSC,
2012).
Probe construction and sample collection details 1! 'x- recorded in the field book.
Installation of the sampling probes are as follows:
• Temporary vapor probes, made of teflon tubing, with a stainless steel (or
other inert material) screen attached to the tip, will be installed at selected
depths for soil vapor sample collection as described on pages 8 and 9 and
shown in Figure 1 (p.1 l) of the 2012 DTSC Advisory-Active Soil Gas
Investigations.
• Sand pack(approximately 1 foot thick) will be placed around the temporary
probe tip, followed by dry granular bentonite(approximately 1 foot thick).
The probe tip will be placed approximately midway in the sand pack.
• Hydrated granular bentonite will be used to seal the remaining distance to
ground surface to prevent ambient air intrusion.
• A down-hole rod will be used to support the tubing in the borehole and to
ensure that the probe tip is placed at the proper depths.
Soil Gas and Soil Sampling Work Plan—Rev.4 7693-05
Former Kearney-KPF Facility Dudek
Stockton,CA 14 September 2013
