CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
CENTRAL VALLEY REGION
MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM NO. 89-163
FOR CLOSURE OF
KEARNEY-KPF
SURFACE IMPOUNDMENTS
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
SURFACE WATER MONITORING
The ditch which borders the western property boundary and is east of the Southern
Pacific Railroad shall be sampled when it contains representative surface water runoff
from the field. A sample shall be collected from the southern portion of the ditch
which borders the on-site disposal areas and is adjacent to the lowest surface
elevations of the field. The sample shall be collected during the first storm of the
rainy season which produces significant flows. Surface water samples shall be analyzed
for the following:
Report in
Parameter/Constituent Units of
Specific Conductance(field) Nmhos/cm
PH (field) pH units
GROUND WATER MONITORING
The following monitoring program shall be implemented at the facility to determine
compliance with "water quality protection standards". Because the direction of ground
water movement in the aquifer fluctuates during the year from east to west, monitor
wells are to be located in such a manner as to surround the closed units. The
locations of the wells are shown an Attachment B. Samples from all monitoring wells
shall be analyzed for the following parameters and constituents at the identified
frequencies.
Sampling
Report in & Reporting
Parameters/Constituent Units of Frequency
Specific Conductance (field) Nmhos/cm Quarterly
Specific Conductance pmhos/cm Annually
PH (field) pH Units Quarterly
PH pH Units Annually
Temperature (field) OF Quarterly
Total Dissolved Solids mg/l Annually
Chloride mg/l Annually
Sulfate mg/l Annually
Carbonate mg/l Annually
Bicarbonate mg/l Annually
Alkalinity mg/1 Annually
