Inspection Report : Facility Name <br /> Pilkington North America, Inc. <br /> Photograph No.86: Oily spills on the floor from the leaking compressor in the boiler <br /> room. <br /> Leaking <br /> compressor <br /> The inspection then proceeded to the battery recharging area situated inside the building. <br /> DTSC staff observed five 55-gallon drums not properly labeled and improperly closed near the <br /> battery recharging area. DTSC staff observed that one 55-gallon drum containing antifreeze, <br /> one 55-gallon drum containing oily contaminated absorbent pads and gloves, one 55-gallon <br /> drum containing universal waste empty aerosol cans without accumulation start date. PNA <br /> violated Cal. Code Regs., tit. 22, § 66265.31, in that the facility failed to properly label one 55- <br /> gallon drum containing antifreeze, one 55-gallon drum containing oily contaminated absorbent <br /> pads and gloves, and one 55-gallon drum containing universal waste empty aerosol cans near <br /> the battery recharging station. DTSC staff also observed oily contaminated absorbent pads <br /> and gloves in the trash can near the battery recharging area. PNA violated Cal. Code Regs., <br /> tit. 22, § 66265.173 (a), in that PNA failed to keep containers of hazardous waste closed <br /> except when adding or removing hazardous waste near the battery recharging station.
