Jan. 21. 2013 1 :36PM No, 0700 P. 2
ATT: San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Thuy Tran
1868 Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205-3420
The following minor violations have been addressed as follows:
Item 1 # 108 66262.11 CCR
We contacted George Lowry, hazardous waste Disposal Company, and were
instructed that waste grease in small amounts can be placed with the waste oil for
pick up since both petroleum based and are recycled together. grease in larger
amounts needs to be placed with solid waste with the oil filters for pick up by George
Lowry. The grease found in the hash receptacle was picked up with the waste on
1/14/2013. All employees that have potential to work in that areas were trained on the
proper disposal methods (see attached evidence #1). All remaining contents of the
container were checked and were found to be trash.
Item 2#605 66262.34 (f)
All oil/waste water drums have hazardous waste labels attached/visible and fully
completed. In addition to being a line item on the monthly drum inspection checklist,
this has been added to the Monthly Plant Safety Audit (completed by Safety
Coordinator) for monthly verification that the labels are up to standard (see attached
evidence#2)
Item 3 #812 66273.39
All universal waste will be disposed of at a certified Universal waste disposal facility.
This was done, however receipts were not obtained. We have designated employees
that would be involved in the disposal and trained them on the importance of asking
for a receipt for record keeping purposes(see evidence#3).
All corrections have been confirmed and documented.
Patricia.Avelar
Safety Coordinator
Berry Plastics
Lathrop, Ca
