Two blue five gallon partially buried buckets were at the southwest corner. One was empty. The other was full of
dirt. The dirt had dark oil stains. The Lead Mechanic David Blanco stated that the dirt in the five gallon bucket was
contaminated with oil. Various other solid wastes such as vehicle cables, a tire, and tarp were found in the dry
retention pond. The following were found outside of the retention pond. Partially full one gallon containers of coolant
were left at parking spots 24, 25, 30, and 31. Parking spot 31 also had two non-empty containers of oil. An open five
gallon bucket full of oil was left west of the red Kline storage container. The facility solid waste trash bin had an oil
catch pan with contaminated rags and oily sludge in it. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the
waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately remove the various wastes found, stop disposal as non-hazardous waste,
and make a hazardous waste determination for these wastes, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste
regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed.
This is a minor violation.
