' Job No. 4780200 Pape 9
' 5.0 ANALYTICAL RESULTS
The laboratory reports documenting the results of sample analyses will be
presented in an Appendix within the Soil Sampling and Analysis Report and the
' results of soil sample analyses will be summarized in a tabular format within the
report.
5.1 Laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality Control
1
' The purpose of a quality assurance/quality control program is to follow field and
laboratory sampling and handling procedures that will allow the generated data
' to be scientifically valid, defensible and of appropriate quality. Laboratory
testing will be performed by a laboratory certified by the State of California
t DHS to perform the types of analyses requested. Each laboratory has
documented procedures for handling, preparing, and testing samples for the
various types of compounds for which that laboratory is certified to test.
Copies of these procedures are available at the laboratories and will be provided
' on request.
' The laboratory will check analytical results, as necessary, by analyzing
duplicate samples. Duplicate split samples may be submitted "blind" and
' randomly to the laboratory under separate sample numbers. Duplicate samples
may also be submitted to different laboratories for testing to cross-check
' analytical results.
' Laboratory reports will be reviewed to check that analyses are completed within
the recommended sample holding times and that proper sample preservation,
' preparation, and extraction techniques have been used. Measurements of
percent recovery for spiked samples will be evaluated for compliance with
established laboratory control limits. Only data identified as being of sufficient
quality will be used; suspect data will be identified as such.
' ESC, Inc. December 23, 1992
