' Job No. 4780201 • • 6
t3.3 Well Development & Sampling
Groundwater monitoring well MW-1 will be developed and sampled using EPA-
and State-approved methodologies. During development, at least 10 casing
volumes of groundwater will be removed from the well in an effort to remove
suspended materials and stabilize the well sand-pack.
After development, the well will be allowed to stabilize for at least 24-hours
wprior to sampling. During pre-sampling purging, at least three well-casing
volumes of groundwater will be removed from the well using a dedicated
Ndisposable bailer. During purging, evacuated groundwater will be observed for
the presence of sheen or odor and physical groundwater parameter readings,
' including electrical conductivity, temperature, turbidity, and pH, will be taken
until these readings indicate that the well has stabilized.
Once the well has stabilized, samples will be collected using a dedicated
disposable bailer. Sample material will be dispensed into bottles appropriate for
the required analyses. The water will be transferred from the bailer to the
bottles in a manner that will minimize the evaporation of volatile constituents.
Each bottle will be filled in a manner that will diminish any entrapped air or
headspace. The bottles will then be secured, labeled, and placed on ice in a
' cooler for transport to the laboratory. Groundwater produced during sampling
procedures will be contained in labeled, 55-gallon drums and stored on-site
' pending appropriate disposal.
' 3.4 Sample Analyses
' All soil and groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPHd, TPHg, and BTEX.
' The groundwater sample collected from well MW-1 will also be analyzed for
MTBE. Sample analyses will be conducted at Entech Analytical Labs, Inc. of
' Sunnyvale, California ICA ELAP# 1369).
EC, Inc. April 4, 1997
