soil sample. <br /> A clean set of En Core® samplers, soil sleeve, glass jar, or plastic syringe will then <br /> be driven into the soil pile until each are completely full or contain the correct <br /> amount of soil as detailed above. <br /> • The sample handling, field screening and documentation as referenced for soil <br /> sampling above, will be followed. <br /> General Site Activities <br /> The field staff person shall: <br /> • Describe the lithology observed on each sidewall and the bottom of the excavation, or <br /> the soil encountered every five feet in a boring, using the Unified Soils Classification <br /> System(USCS)or the American Society of Testing and materials (ASTM) Method <br /> D2488, and a Munsell Soil Color Chart. <br /> Measure the length, width,and depth of the excavation or the dimensions of the <br /> stockpile and any notable features, with reference to permanent structures at the site. <br /> • Take photographs of the proceedings and of the site upon arrival, during activities, <br /> and upon departure, for additional documentation. <br /> • Retain a copy of the chain-of-custody upon submittal of the samples to the laboratory, <br /> for documentation. <br /> • Additional documentation shall include: <br /> — Measurements of the USTs removed (length, diameter) <br /> — Visual observations of the condition of the UST(s) <br /> — Photographs of the UST or excavation <br /> — Disposition of waste generated <br /> — Name and association of all parties at the site during the activities <br /> — Other items deemed relevant <br /> 5.
